About Elliot M. Weinstein

Elliot M. Weinstein is a criminal defense lawyer who has represented individuals and businesses in major cases involving mail and wire fraud, tax fraud, organized crime and racketeering including RICO, drug conspiracy, and crimes of violence including murder. He is a past president of the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and recipient of the prestigious Joseph J. Balliro Award in recognition of a lifetime dedication and commitment to the rights of the accused.


A Brief Biography

Elliot M. Weinstein was born in Brookline, Massachusetts, on December 26, 1948. He attended Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, and graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.  Thereafter, he attended Boston College Law School and graduated in 1974 with his Juris Doctor degree.  Mr. Weinstein was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1974, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusestts and the Florida Bar in 1974, the First Circuit Court of Appeals in 1983, and the Supreme Court of the United States in 1994..

He began his career as a trial attorney with the Massachusetts Defenders Committee from 1974 to 1979, and was an adjunct clinical instructor at Suffolk University Law School from 1980 to 1983. His professional organizations include:
